Kenya Institute of Governance

The Kenya Institute of Governance is a Nairobi-based non-profit making organization created to promote the values of democratic governance, the rule of law, human rights, justice, accountability and integrity in Kenya and the East Africa region. The Institute embraces the vision of a democratic and prosperous society founded on sound sustainable governance principles and practices. Its mission is to generate and share information to promote dialogue and actions that entrench democratic governance and to impact on policy formulation and implementation. KIG is embarked upon a collaborative leadership training program for members of parliament, leaders of political parties and key opinion leaders in all 47 counties of Kenya with the support of UNDP.

Featured Project

On 14th February 2008, PIN held a consultative meeting with the new leadership of Parliament. The newly elected Speaker of Kenya National Assembly the Deputy Speaker and the senior leadership agreed to a consultative briefing meeting of the Parliamentary Initiatives Network (PIN) attended this meeting whose purpose was dual: to brief and introduce the senior leadership of Parliament to PIN and its outlook of coordinated support to Parliament; and, getting the leadership interact and familiarize itself with which each of the member organizations mandate especially vis-à-vis the focus on Parliament.
